Dinolfo named ‘Clerk of the Year’

Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo was honored this week as “County Clerk of the Year” by the New York State Association of County Clerks.

Dinolfo was selected for “continued advocacy” on behalf of her fellow county clerks and their constituents throughout the state, according to a release from the association.

She has been recognized as a leader on technology issues facing government and helped to shape legislation authorizing the electronic filing of court records that recently passed both houses of the state Legislature. A beta version of the program for certain court cases will begin in Monroe County later this year.

“As county clerks, we consistently strive to provide quality customer service at the lowest cost to taxpayers,” Dinolfo said in a release. “Initiatives including the electronic filing of court records will make government more efficient and cost-effective.”

Dinolfo is co-chairwoman of the association’s Courts Committee, which oversees e-filing initiatives with the Office of Court Administration. She also is a co-chairwoman of the organization’s E-Recording Committee, which implements e-filing of land records, including deeds and mortgages.
