JAMES V. PHILIPPONE
ATTORNEY AT LAW, PHILIPPONE LAW OFFICES
Years in current role: Over 50
What has been your biggest success over the past year?
Not getting COVID.
What are your expectations for the rest of this year?
Advocating for my clients with serious physical injuries, working with doctors and physical therapists regarding my client’s treatment and negotiating with the insurance companies to get the best recovery for my clients. My professional relationships with my clients are the driving force and helping the client is always the focus.
What advice would you give someone starting a personal injury law practice right now?
Establish a relationship with your client. There is no substitute for personal contact between lawyer and client to meet directly to assess damages and work on the case. Also, CLE Seminars with the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers and Monroe County Bar Association are invaluable resources.
If you could practice one area of law that you haven’t practiced in your career, what would it be and why?
I have practiced in many fields, and certainly all that I have an interest in doing. Personal Injury is the most rewarding field.
What is one personal goal you have for the next year?
Avoid getting COVID and continue helping as many clients as I can.
