What is one legal issue or trend you’re keeping a close eye on this year?

Clients in some sectors are concerned about the impact of executive orders on funding for their organizations. The legal issue surrounding competing legislation is an issue many are closely watching.

What skills do you think are most crucial for new attorneys entering the field today?

Analytics, logic and persuasive speaking and writing. Having these skills, even with the advent of AI, is imperative in the practice of law.

What’s one misconception people often have about your area of law?

That there are always clear winners (and losers) in contested litigation. While this certainly occurs in decisions involving matters of law, there are so many other variables in litigation that impact a client. We spend a lot of time working with clients in these areas.

What’s your ideal way to spend a weekend in the Finger Lakes or Western New York?

Outside all season, taking full advantage of all the natural resources available to enjoy!
