Child Care Council Inc. held a ceremony recently to recognize new graduates of its child development associate course. The CDA course, which takes about  11 months to complete, encourages participants to broaden their understanding of key issues in early childhood education.

The class was comprised largely of family child care providers. Through course work, each individual learns how to meet the specific needs of children and work with parents and other adults to nurture children’s physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth in a child development framework. The council offers CDA classes in Monroe, Wayne and Livingston counties.
