Partner/Office Leader, Phillips Lytle LLP
Years in current role: 3 as Partner, 1 as Office Leader
What is one legal issue or trend you’re keeping a close eye on this year?
I represent lenders in connection with construction financing under federal and state low-income housing tax credit programs. The tariff changes have impacted construction budgets, which has caused developers and banks to evolve and move toward creative solutions. I need to make sure such changes are appropriately documented.
What skills do you think are most crucial for new attorneys entering the field today?
Curiosity. If you are curious about a topic, you will ask more questions, research, and really dig in. That is when the best learning happens.
What’s your ideal way to spend a weekend in the Finger Lakes or Western New York?
I have two young daughters, and we love to spend the weekend outside. Wickham Farms in Penfield, Burnap’s Farm Market in Sodus, and the Fairy Trail in Mendon Ponds Park are a few of our favorite places. We also love exploring playgrounds around the Rochester area.
